Samsung draining fast? Here's how to check battery health, what replacement costs, and whether it's worth it for your model.
A customer brought in his Galaxy S22 last week. Two years old, otherwise perfect condition, but the battery was draining by 3pm every day. He'd started carrying a power bank and was considering buying a new phone.
We checked his battery health: 71%. The phone was throttling to compensate for the degraded battery, making everything feel sluggish. £89 and forty minutes later, he had a phone that lasted until bedtime again.
We replace about 150 Samsung batteries a year. Most customers are surprised how quick and affordable it is compared to buying new. Here's what you need to know.

Warning
If your back panel is lifting: This indicates battery swelling and is a safety concern. Stop using and charging the phone immediately. Swollen batteries can be dangerous.
Unlike iPhones until recently, Samsung has always shown battery health prominently:
You'll see your current capacity as a percentage of original. Below 80% is when most people start noticing problems. Below 70% and the phone becomes frustrating to use.

Samsung doesn't make battery health as visible as Apple does, but there are clear signs your battery needs attention:
Swollen Battery = Urgent
A swollen battery is a safety hazard. Stop using the phone, don't charge it, and bring it in for replacement as soon as possible. Swollen batteries can catch fire or explode.
Samsung added battery health checking in One UI 5.0+. Here's how to check:
Apps like AccuBattery can estimate battery health by analysing charge cycles. They're not as accurate as built-in tools but give a reasonable indication.

What's Included
Our battery replacement includes: genuine or equivalent quality battery, new adhesive, water resistance restoration where possible, and a 27-month warranty on the battery.
The parts debate isn't just for screens—batteries matter too. For a deeper dive into Samsung parts quality, see our Samsung OEM vs third-party parts guide.
Usually 45-60 minutes. Samsung phones require careful opening due to the waterproofing and adhesive. We take time to do it properly and restore water resistance.
No, battery replacement doesn't affect your data at all. Everything stays exactly as it was.
We reapply waterproof adhesive, but we can't guarantee the original IP68 rating. We recommend treating it as water-resistant rather than waterproof after any repair. If your phone has already suffered water damage, that's a separate repair that may affect the battery too.
If your phone is under 3 years old and otherwise working well, battery replacement at £49-89 is much better value than a £600+ new phone. If your phone has other issues or is 4+ years old, upgrading might make more sense.
Get your Samsung Galaxy running like new with a fresh battery. 45-60 minute service with 27-month warranty.
