Our Refurbishment Process
Every refurbished device goes through our multi-step process:
- Initial assessment: Device history check, physical inspection, functionality test
- Data wipe: Complete factory reset and secure data erasure

- Battery check: Health tested — replaced if below threshold
- Deep clean: Professional cleaning of all ports, speakers, and surfaces
- Full testing: 30+ point functional test checklist
- Cosmetic grading: Honest assessment against our grading criteria
- Final QC: Second technician verifies everything before listing
Devices that don't meet our standards are not sold. We'd rather have fewer listings than sell something we wouldn't use ourselves.
Grading System
Our grading reflects cosmetic condition only. All grades are functionally identical — fully tested, working perfectly, with the same warranty.
Choose your grade based on how much you care about appearance:
Excellent (Grade A)
Excellent Condition
Looks almost new. For buyers who want their device to look as good as possible.
Screen:
- No scratches visible during normal use
- May have micro-scratches only visible under bright light at an angle
- No chips, cracks, or dead pixels
Body/frame:
- Minimal signs of use
- May have very light marks on back glass or metal frame
- No dents, deep scratches, or significant wear
Ideal for: Gift giving, business use, anyone who values aesthetics.
Good (Grade B)
Good Condition
Light wear visible on inspection. Best balance of value and appearance.
Screen:
- Light scratches may be visible under certain lighting
- No scratches that catch your fingernail
- No chips, cracks, or dead pixels
Body/frame:
- Visible light scratches or scuffs
- Minor marks on corners or edges
- No dents that affect case fitment
Ideal for: Personal use, first smartphone for kids, anyone prioritising value.
Fair (Grade C)
Fair Condition
Noticeable cosmetic wear. Lowest price, but fully functional.
Screen:
- Visible scratches during normal use
- May have scratches you can feel (but not affecting touch response)
- No cracks or dead pixels
Body/frame:
- Noticeable scratches, scuffs, or marks
- May have small dents or dings
- Signs of significant previous use
Ideal for: Work phones, backup devices, case users who don't care about looks, anyone maximising value.
Battery Health Guarantee
Minimum Battery Health Guaranteed
Every device ships with verified battery health:
- iPhones & smartphones: Minimum 80% capacity
- iPads & tablets: Minimum 85% capacity
- MacBooks & laptops: Minimum 85% capacity
How we verify:
- iPhones: Apple's Battery Health feature in Settings
- MacBooks: System Information > Power > Cycle Count and Condition
- Other devices: Manufacturer diagnostic tools or third-party verification
If your battery is below threshold on arrival:
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery
- We'll replace the battery free of charge, or
- Accept a full refund with free return shipping
Battery health naturally decreases with use. Our guarantee applies to the state on arrival, not future degradation from normal use.
15-Month Warranty
15-Month Refurbished Warranty
Every refurbished device from celltech is covered by our 15 months warranty — 25% longer than the industry standard 12 months.
The warranty period begins from the date of delivery.
What's Covered
Our 15 months warranty covers:
- Hardware defects: Any component that fails under normal use
- Battery performance: If health drops below 80% within warranty
- Functionality issues: Screen, touch, cameras, speakers, buttons, sensors
- Connectivity problems: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, GPS
- Charging issues: Port failures, wireless charging problems
Warranty claims are handled at our Birmingham, UK workshop. We repair, replace, or refund depending on the issue.
What's Not Covered
Our warranty does not cover:
- Physical damage: Drops, cracks, bends, crushing after purchase
- Liquid damage: Water or other liquid exposure after purchase
- Software issues: Apps, operating system bugs, user configuration
- Unauthorised repairs: Work done by other repair shops
- Cosmetic wear: Scratches, scuffs from normal use
- Accessories: Cables, chargers (unless defective on arrival)
- Theft or loss: We don't offer insurance
If you need a repair that isn't covered by warranty, we offer it at our standard repair rates.
30-Day Returns
30-Day No-Quibble Returns
You have 30 days from delivery to return your device for any reason. Changed your mind? It's not quite what you expected? No problem.
How to return:
- Email mail@celltechmobilerepairs.co.uk within 30 days of delivery
- Tell us why you're returning (helps us improve, but not required)
- We'll send a prepaid returns label
- Post the device with all included accessories
- Refund processed within 5-7 days of receiving the return
Conditions:
- Device must be in the same condition as delivered
- All included accessories must be returned
- Device must be signed out of all accounts (iCloud, Google, etc.)
- Deductions may apply for damage beyond normal handling
Beyond 30 days: Returns are at our discretion after 30 days. Warranty claims remain valid for 15 months.
Network Unlocked Guarantee
All Devices Unlocked
Every refurbished device we sell is network unlocked and will work with any UK carrier (EE, Vodafone, O2, Three, etc.) and most international networks.
What this means:
- Insert any SIM card and it will work
- Switch carriers without restrictions
- Use abroad with local SIM cards
If your device is network locked on arrival:
Contact us immediately. We will either unlock it for you free of charge or provide a full refund. This should never happen, but if it does, we'll make it right.
iCloud & Activation Lock
Activation Lock Guarantee
Every device is verified clear of iCloud Activation Lock, Google FRP (Factory Reset Protection), and Samsung Account locks before sale.
Our verification process:
- Factory reset and fresh setup on every device
- Activation Lock status verified through device setup
- IMEI checked against databases for reported status
If you receive a locked device:
This would be a serious error on our part. Contact us immediately for a full refund including return shipping. We take this extremely seriously as locked devices are essentially unusable.
Blacklisted/stolen devices:
We check all devices against GSMA and UK carrier databases. If a device is later reported lost or stolen after you've purchased it, contact us — we'll work with you to resolve it, though this is extremely rare.
Water Resistance Disclaimer
Water Resistance Not Guaranteed
Refurbished devices should be treated as non-water-resistant, regardless of original IP rating.
Why:
- Water resistance seals degrade over time and with use
- Opening a device for refurbishment affects original seals
- Even Apple does not guarantee water resistance after any repair
- There is no way to reliably test water resistance without risking damage
Our advice:
- Use a waterproof case if you need water protection
- Avoid exposing your device to water, rain, or high humidity
- Liquid damage is not covered by warranty
This applies to all refurbished devices industry-wide, not just ours. Any seller claiming otherwise is misleading you.

- Protective packaging: Secure box for safe delivery
Not included (unless specified):
- Original manufacturer box
- Wall charger/power adapter (EU regulations)
- Earphones/AirPods
- Cases or screen protectors
Wall chargers, cases, and screen protectors are available to purchase separately at checkout.
Pre-Sale Testing
Every device passes our 30+ point testing checklist before being listed:

If any test fails, the device is repaired or removed from sale. We don't sell devices with known issues.
Setting Expectations
Refurbished does not mean new. Please understand this before purchasing:
- Photos are representative of the grade, not your specific device
- Each device is unique — cosmetic wear varies within grade guidelines
- Functionality is identical across all grades
- Lower grades offer better value if you use a case anyway
Our honest advice:
- If appearance matters a lot → choose Excellent
- If you want balance → choose Good
- If you just need it to work → choose Fair
Not sure? Start with Good — it's our most popular grade for a reason. You have 30 days to return if you're not happy.

Your Consumer Rights
Consumer Rights Act 2015
Your statutory rights are not affected by these terms. Refurbished goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described.
Under UK consumer law:
- 30 days: Full refund if goods are faulty
- 6 months: Repair or replacement (fault assumed to be present at delivery)
- Up to 6 years: Repair, replacement, or partial refund (you must prove fault was present)
Our 15 months warranty and 30-day returns policy exceed these minimum requirements.

Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
