celltech offers a device trade-in service that gives your old tech a second life while putting money in your pocket. We accept smartphones, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, and gaming consoles — working or broken.

Device Eligibility
We accept most devices, including:
- iPhones (iPhone 8 and newer)
- Samsung Galaxy (S10 and newer, A series, Z Flip/Fold)
- Google Pixel phones
- iPads and Android tablets
- MacBooks and Windows laptops
- Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Garmin
- PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch
Condition doesn't matter. Working, cracked, water-damaged, won't turn on — we'll assess it and make an offer. Broken devices are valued based on what we can recover or repair.
Devices We Cannot Accept
We cannot buy devices that are blacklisted (reported stolen), have outstanding finance, or are permanently locked to someone else's account. We check every device — it protects you and us.
Quotation Process
Getting a quote takes about 60 seconds:
- Select your device: Choose make, model, and storage capacity
- Describe condition: Answer honest questions about functionality and cosmetics
- Get instant quote: See your offer immediately — no email required
- Lock your price: Quote guaranteed for 7 days
Be honest about condition. If the device doesn't match your description, we'll offer a revised price. Accurate descriptions mean no surprises for either of us.
Tip: Check battery health before quoting (Settings → Battery → Battery Health on iPhone). This is a common reason for price adjustments.
7-Day Price Lock
Your Price is Guaranteed for 7 Days
Once you accept a quote, that price is locked for 7 days. Market values can drop quickly — your quote won't. Send your device within the lock period and that's the price you'll receive (assuming accurate condition description).
What if I miss the 7-day window?
You'll need to get a new quote. Prices may have changed — sometimes up, sometimes down. We update valuations weekly based on market conditions.
Extreme market events: In rare cases of significant market shifts (over 20% value change), we may need to adjust even locked quotes. If this happens, we'll contact you before processing with the option to proceed or have your device returned free.
Condition Assessment
When we receive your device, a technician performs a thorough assessment:

Assessment typically takes 1-2 hours. We'll email you the result with photos.
If We Offer a Different Price
Sometimes devices don't match their description. Common reasons:
- Battery health lower than expected (most common)
- Scratches or damage not mentioned
- Functionality issues (speaker, microphone, buttons)
- Different storage capacity than stated
Revised Quote Guarantee
If we offer a different price, you have 14 days to decide. Accept the new price, or we'll return your device completely free. No return shipping costs, no admin fees, no catches.
We'll always explain exactly why the price changed with photos. Our goal is for you to understand and agree the price is fair, even if it's different from the original quote.
If you don't respond within 14 days: We'll assume you've accepted the revised quote and process payment.
Payment
Same-Day Payment
Once assessment is complete and you've accepted (or the original quote stands), we process payment the same business day. No waiting around.
Payment methods:
- Bank transfer: Usually arrives within 2 hours (Faster Payments)
- Cash: In-store trade-ins only
- Store credit: 10% bonus on credit value (use towards repairs or refurbished devices)
We need your bank details (sort code and account number) to pay via transfer. We'll never ask for passwords or PINs.
Data Wipe Responsibility
Your Data is Your Responsibility
Back up everything important and factory reset your device before sending. Sign out of iCloud, Google, Samsung account, and any other accounts. We cannot access locked devices and will have to return them.
Before you send your device:
- Backup: iCloud, Google Drive, or computer backup
- Sign out: Settings → [Your Name] → Sign Out (iPhone) or Settings → Accounts → Remove (Android)
- Disable Find My: Settings → [Your Name] → Find My → Find My iPhone → Off
- Factory reset: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content and Settings
- Remove SIM and memory cards: These are not included in the trade-in
We perform a secure wipe on every device using industry-standard data erasure tools. However, you should assume all data is lost — we cannot recover anything after assessment begins.
Ownership Transfer
By trading in your device, you legally declare that:
- You are the owner or have authority to sell the device
- The device is not stolen, lost, or subject to insurance claims
- No money is owed on the device (finance, lease, contract)
- You have the right to transfer ownership free of any claims
When does ownership transfer?
Ownership transfers to celltech when we complete payment. Until then, the device remains yours and you can request its return.
If ownership issues arise after payment: We reserve the right to reverse the transaction and recover the payment. In cases of suspected fraud, we will involve the police.
Rejected Devices
Some devices cannot be purchased under any circumstances:
- Blacklisted devices: Reported lost or stolen (IMEI blocked)
- Finance owing: Still being paid off on contract
- Permanently locked: iCloud Activation Lock, Google FRP, Samsung Knox we cannot remove
- Counterfeit: Fake or replica devices
- Significant misrepresentation: Described as working but completely non-functional
What Happens to Rejected Devices
Rejected devices can be collected from our shop within 30 days at no charge, or returned by post (you pay shipping). After 30 days, uncollected devices may be disposed of.
We'll always explain why. If your device is rejected, we'll tell you exactly what the issue is. Sometimes it's fixable (like removing an account lock) — we'll give you the chance to resolve it.
In-Store vs Mail-In Trade-Ins
You can trade in your device two ways:
In-store (recommended for fastest payment):
- Visit us at 353 Warwick Road, Solihull, B91 1BQ
- Assessment done while you wait (15-30 minutes)
- Cash payment available immediately
- Walk out with money in hand
Mail-in (convenient for anywhere in UK):
- We send a prepaid shipping label — free postage
- Pack securely (see our packaging guide)
- Assessment within 24 hours of receipt
- Bank transfer same day as assessment
Mail-in devices are covered by our transit insurance while using our prepaid label. You're responsible for packaging adequately — use bubble wrap and a sturdy box.
Cancellation Rights
You can change your mind at various stages:

Environmental Commitment
Trading in your device is the most environmentally responsible choice:
- 90% of devices we buy are repaired and resold — extending their useful life
- Devices beyond repair are responsibly recycled through certified e-waste partners
- Valuable components (screens, batteries, cameras) are recovered for repairs
- Zero landfill policy — nothing we receive goes to waste

Complaints & Disputes
If you're unhappy with your trade-in experience:
- Contact us first: Email mail@celltechmobilerepairs.co.uk with your order reference and concerns
- We'll respond within 48 hours with a proposed resolution
- Escalation: If unresolved, ask for a senior manager review
- External resolution: You may pursue alternative dispute resolution or legal remedies
Common disputes we can resolve quickly:
- "My quote was reduced unfairly" — we'll provide photos and detailed explanation; you can always have the device back free
- "I haven't received payment" — we'll check bank details and resend if needed
- "My device was rejected" — we'll explain why and discuss options
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force.
